COMMITTEE FOR COOPERATION WITH OTHER ASSOCIATIONS

The main Committee’s goal is to liaise with other associations or organisations which are related to patent attorneys’ activities at both national and international level in order to meet the objectives of the Association more effectively.

The key objectives of the Committee are to determine the current organisations and constantly search for new ones, whose activities are related to the objectives of the Association. Moreover, the Committee strives to develop and maintain relationships with other relevant organisations as well as organise joint projects and take part in ongoing projects. PROFESSIONAL ETHICS COMMITTEE

The main Committee’s goal is to develop a code of professional ethics as well as rules regarding the submission of complaints about the infringement of professional ethics and the examination of disciplinary cases. The Committee also aims to prepare other project documents related to the examination of disciplinary cases and patent attorneys’ professional ethics.

The Committee’s objectives are to prepare a professional ethics code for patent attorneys, to discuss and prepare the rules (procedures) regarding the submission of complaints about the infringement of the patent attorneys professional ethics code as well as the examination of disciplinary cases. Moreover, the committee strives to cooperate with the group responsible for the preparation of the Patent Attorneys Act on issues related to the prevention of the professional ethics infringement and the fines subject to this type of infringement. Finally, it also seeks to collaborate with the Disciplinary Committee of the Institute of Professional Representatives before the European Patent Office (EPI) on emerging issues and propose answers to questions raised by the Disciplinary Committee of the EPI regarding the validity of relevant Lithuanian laws in the professional ethics and disciplinary areas

COMMITTEE FOR THE PREPARATION OF THE PATENT ATTORNEY ACT

The main Committee’s goal is the Patent Attorneys Act.

The Committee’s objectives are to prepare Patent Attorneys Act and related documents, to participate in activities focused on the approval of the Patent Attorneys Act and to disseminate information regarding patent attorneys and Association’s activities.

The Committee has devised the project of the aforementioned act and spreads information to the public and governmental institutions about the need for this act.

PROFESSIONAL QUALIFICATIONS COMMITTEE

The main Committee’s goal is to help improve the training for all those involved in the work related to the intellectual property.

The Committee aims to organise training seminars related to patents, trademarks and designs.

The Committee has devised a plan of seminars for patent attorneys and other professionals related to the field. The seminars focus on how to file European and international applications in an electronic way, the preparation of the patent claims and the descriptions of the inventions, the protection of commercial secrets and biotechnological inventions.

COMMITTEE ON RELATIONS WITH THE STATE PATENT BUREAU OF THE REPUBLIC OF LITHUANIA

The main Committee’s goal is to liaise with the State Patent Bureau (SPB).

The objectives of the Committee are to give advice on industrial property protection laws and by-laws, to cooperate in the preparation of the examinations and training of the patent attorneys and in the development of joint projects with the SPB, to share information about the legal protection of industrial property with the SPB and the members of the Association.

The Committee offers proposals to the President of the Association and the Management Committee regarding the industrial property protection laws, joint projects with the SPB, events, examinations and training of the patent attorneys.
